Why the Hemp Industry Might Be the New Cash Cow – An Interview with the CEO of HempNet Industries Malaysia

Despite the indecisive outcomes by the Malaysian Ministry of Internal Affairs in changing the law and policies on the Sativa L. strain cannabis, Hempnet has proceeded together with the Ministry of Agriculture on hemp plantation. We have also abided by the regulations of the FDA, DEA and the Malaysian Ministry of Health,” says Biros.

Why Is Hemp Illegal?

In case you’re wondering, hemp is illegal because the cannabis plant popularly known as marijuana and ganja is classified as a dangerous narcotic drug.
However, hemp and marijuana are not the same plants – they’re two very different strains of the cannabis plant.
Marijuana has high levels of THC (the ingredient which gets you high when consuming marijuana). On the other hand, hemp has very low levels of THC, and it has a long history of being processed to make useful products.
Before the worldwide ban on cannabis imposed by international treaties, hemp was cultivated for centuries in Asia, and was used for making paper, clothes, rope, and many other things.
In the past few years, more countries have gone back to legalising hemp and cannabis for industrial and medicinal purposes. For example, as of May 2019, the Thai government has authorised its citizens to plant cannabis for individual use.

Growing Hemp: A New Field?

Biros Nath Omar emphasises that it will be a tremendous wasted opportunity if Malaysia does not do the same as other nations in legislating hemp for commercial use.
“The Malaysian government’s endorsement of hemp agriculture could significantly increase the revenue of the Malaysian economy and assist in the nation’s expenditure. For example, the value for 1 litre of hemp oil is almost RM 8000. If we could extract 14,000 litres of hemp oil per harvest, this will net a potential profit of RM 1.12 million,” asserts Biros.
The HempNet CEO further explained that due to its versatility, every part of the plant can be used to make products for daily use.
“The obtained hemp oil can be refined into a variety of commercial products, like health supplements and edibles. Its stalk can be developed into hempcrete, which can be utilised for construction and insulation,” explains Biros.
The HempNet CEO also pointed out that hemp products are highly accessible in the international market. This makes it easy for Malaysia’s local hemp-based products to be exported to global industries such as the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, construction, and automotive industries.
“Automotive manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes and Bentley have also fostered the use of hemp fibre for producing car dashboards due to its sustainability and antibacterial properties,” says Biros.
Not many people would turn down a lucrative business or career which is also environmentally sustainable. Unfortunately, we’re overlooking a bright opportunity as the legalisation of hemp is still being considered in Malaysia.

What is Hemp’s Environment Impact?

“The plantation of hemp plants will not produce a greenhouse effect, since it only needs a short amount of time for its cultivation without the assistance of technological modifications.”
Compared to other cash crops such as palm oil and durian, hem is far more sustainable. It does not require pesticides since its antibacterial compounds eliminates crop-damaging pests.
“Hemp also has an amazing ability to absorb chemical and toxic spills along with air pollutants,” exclaims Biros, adding: “It is even being used to clean contaminants at the Chernobyl nuclear disaster site.”

What are Hemp’s Pros and Cons?

So, what are the pros and cons of joining the hemp industry in Malaysia?
The hemp industry provides a wide range of benefits to the nation’s advancement from healthcare to the economy of the country. Additionally, it offers income opportunities to everyone.
“There are various type of jobs that can be created by the hemp industry. It ranges from farmers, cultivators, general workers, machine operators, hemp inspectors, director of operations, sales and marketing person, deliveries, consultation, etc,” Biros quipped.
Biros Nath Omar elaborates that the hemp industry is also suitable for small businesses. These  businesses manufacture hemp-based apparels, decorative and construction materials as well as food and cosmetic products.

Low-skilled employees are welcome to join the hemp industry.

“Growing and cultivating hemp do not demand complex processes as it is based on the precepts of organic farming. Training courses can be provided for those who work in this industry such as the processing, manufacturing and packaging sectors. Although certain job scopes do not require a high level of skill, the return of investment is high,” Biros elaborates.
There are special permits licensed by the Ministry of Agriculture for planting the Sativa L. strain cannabis in Malaysia. However, it is complicated since hemp and cannabis are still stigmatised by the majority of Malaysian citizens. This can negatively affect the legalisation process and those who are in need of alternative medicine.

Removing Hemp’s Historical Stigma

For creating public awareness, Biros Nath Omar explains that they prefer to use the term ‘cannabis’ rather than ‘marijuana’. This is because it has derogatory connotations due to the history of United States with their Mexican immigrants.
A majority of the global stigma against marijuana was created by U.S. propaganda to prohibit cultivation of the plant and make its citizens believe that cannabis was dangerous. This had the effect of disproportionately incarcerating immigrants and minorities, who were the biggest users of the cannabis drug.
In Malaysia, restrictions on cannabis first started taking effect under British rule. In 1826, the British were already raising taxes for the production of ‘bhang’. Bhang is an edible preparation of cannabis originating from India.
Then in 1952, prior to the independence of Malaysia, cannabis was first prohibited by the British in accordance with the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance.
We need to break free from the limitations of old colonial laws and false negative perceptions about cannabis so that we can flourish.
There is a lot of potential for a lucrative hemp industry in Malaysia, but first, we must work on changing our mindsets.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad said it was time for Malaysia, Turkey and Pakistan to begin their efforts to explain the real Islam to the world.
PETALING JAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan discussed efforts to change negative perceptions of Islam at their recent meeting in New York, United States.
The prime minister said the talks were among the most inaccurate reports about Islam and its followers.
"They label Muslims all terrorists and so on, and this seems to be accepted by all over the world. Instead, Islam is not a violent religion," he said at a news conference broadcast live from New York.
Mahathir said they felt it was time for Malaysia, Turkey and Pakistan to begin their efforts to explain the true meaning of Islam to the world.
"So there will be no more confusion and we will not be accused of being a religion that promotes violence. This will be done in collaboration with our information departments, Pakistan and Turkey, ”he said.
He was commenting on Imran's announcement of the three countries' plans to create an English-language channel to highlight the positive image of Islam and correct the false information that had corrupted the religion.
Imran made the announcement after their meeting at a side event in conjunction with the 74th United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday.
The word 'spicy' is accepted abroad
Meanwhile, Mahathir believes leaders of other countries present at the UN have received criticism and criticism in his speech at the conference.

As 5G wireless becomes more popular, more towers to emit the signals will be built to supplement existing cell towers. This is because 5G needs a different hardware to deliver such signals.
However, 5G requires far more of these towers than previous generations of networks — reportedly, as near as 500 feet apart in many neighborhoods — due to having a higher frequency that decays faster in the atmosphere.
The close proximity of said towers is also a cause for concern, according to Sabine El Gemayel, the producer and director of watchdog group Generation Zapped.

As The National Sentinel reported just a month after President Donald Trump took office in January 2017, “there are few true ah-ha! moments in socioeconomics and global politics, but one of them just occurred and boy, was it a doozy.”
In particular, Christiana Figueres, then-executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, frankly admitted that the overarching goal of the “global warming/climate change” hoax is to reorient the world’s economic model away from capitalism.
“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.
What model is that? Capitalism.
How is the Left going to accomplish their objective? Answer: Any way they can, including scaring the next generations of young people into giving up their freedoms and liberty to prevent planetary destruction via “human-caused climate change.” 
You may have seen footage this week of 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, who appeared before the U.N. to lecture and chastise world leaders for destroying her future (she literally said that).

“How dare you?” she intoned. 
This young lady — who, by the way, has documented mental health issues that her mother has written about publicly — really believes that the world is going to be destroyed in a few years. She’s scared to death the planet won’t be around long enough for her to live a full life, and she’s angry about it. Leftists are despicable for exploiting kids with this massive lie

But the really diabolical part of all this is that Western Leftists and globalists have lied to her and her generation about ‘human-caused climate change.’ There is no such thing; human activity is not causing the ‘climate to change.’ It just isn’t. It’s a lie.
And yet the Left continues to push it. And because too few people have bought into the nonsense, they have now changed their tactics and are beginning to exploit children so that in a few years when they get old enough to vote, they’ll elect authoritarians who are just waiting to take away food sources, automobiles, modern conveniences, and technology (see Andrew Yang). 
We saw how they used young Greta, but the climate alarmists did the same thing in Australia in May, The Gateway Pundit reported. 
A young girl was ‘so distraught’ about climate change she bawled before the camera and could barely even speak about it. 
But wait, there’s more. It turns out that the young girl is named Estalla Renee and is “looking for a career in modeling and acting,” according o an online profile at “StarNow.” She is even featured in a school play.
What Left-wing adults are doing to our children, to their own children — poisoning their minds with propaganda that living a modern life is killing our planet and their future and scaring them nearly to death — is despicable. It borders on child abuse if it doesn’t cross the line entirely.
It is certainly mental abuse. Worse, when anyone challenges the narratives of the young people, they themselves are blasted by hypocrite Leftists with faux outrage: “How dare you criticize a child!” 
They are abusers. And they ought to be ashamed of themselves. But that would take a conscience.

The left has gone ballistic over criticism that teen climate-change activist Greta Thunberg resembles some of the Nazi propaganda that was used to turn the world against Jews more than half a century ago.
The Swedish 16-year-old, who is skipping school for a year to to protest climate change, charged in a speech at the United Nations on Monday that the adults in the room were stealing her dreams and her childhood.
"People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing," she claimed. "We are in the beginning of a mass extinction."

Author and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza noted her resemblance to children exploited by the Nazis to convey their messages.
On Twitter, he said: "Children – notably Nordic white girls with braids and red cheeks – were often used in Nazi propaganda. An old Goebbels technique! Looks like today's progressive Left is still learning its game from an earlier Left in the 1930s."
His criticism prompted a backlash on Twitter.
"Do us a favor, blow your brains out. And please have someone post the vid," wrote Max Keiser.
Cassy Stowe wrote: "Amazing that so many have reported this tweet and it STILL hasn't been taken down."
Caroline wrote: "Take down this tweet. You are insane. She is a 16 year old child, with Asberger's syndrome, she's not part of propaganda."
The comments that followed Saavedra's video offered a different perspective.
"Should have stopped at 'I shouldn't be up here," wrote Tony Po."
"'I should be in school' Then go to school," added Samantha Garber
Niko wrote: "I see they've changed the propaganda to Climate Action (from Protect the Ozone, the Global Warming, Global Cooling, to Climate 'Change' – just in my lifetime). So is it going to be colder? Warmer? Moderate to fine? And Action against what exactly?"
Her performance wasn't so far from propaganda, another said.
Kimann said: "Child abuse to manipulate a little girl to this extent & then use her as a human billboard for childhood angst. There is nothing she does/can do that is not planned & brought to fruition by her adult controllers & so-called caregivers."
"This girl has anger problems. She has been trained to be a fear monger," added Alexander Padilla. "Regardless of the issue, I do not want to be lectured by a kid."
Thunberg's rant was littered with insults, including:
  • "There will not be any plans presented in line with these figures here because the numbers are too uncomfortable and you are still not mature enough to tell it like it is."
  • "If you choose to fail us I say we will never forgive you."
  • "Right here, right now is where we draw the line."
Twitter news aggregator Twitchy asked, "'Where are the parents'? Greta Thunberg's 'disturbing' rant at U.N. Climate Action Summit suggests she's been thoroughly terrorized.
"The bad people in this equation are all those who have instilled this young woman with fear and are using her as a human shield – and her parents for letting it happen."
Thunberg's warnings echo those of socialist U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who said that in a few years Miami would disappear because of global warming and that the world has only about a dozen years left.
But the Competitive Enterprise Institute reported "doomsayers have been predicting climate and environmental disaster since the 1960s," and none have come true.
CEI pointed out that while the predictions grab media headlines, "the failures are typically not revisited."
The Los Angeles Times reported in 1967, for example, that Stanford University's Paul Ehrlich warned it already was too late for the world "to avoid a long period of famine."
"Most disastrous by 1975," said the report.
Ehrlich, a "population biologist," had several others. In 1969 he warned that by 1989, "everyone will disappear in a cloud of blue steam."
In 1970, the New York Times reported on a threat from James P. Lodge Jr., a "pollution expert," who said there would be an ice age by 2000.
Also in 1970, NASA's S.I. Rasool said that over the next five to 10 years, there would be "such a temperature decrease [that it] could be sufficient to trigger an ice age."
Brown University scientists in 1972 wrote to the president that "very soon" there would be "a global deterioration of climate, by order of magnitude larger than any hitherto experienced by civilized mankind."
They looked at the bottom of the ocean to determine that.
The list continued.
WND long has reported on such failures and admissions about the political and financial agenda behind the activists pushing the idea of global cooling, global warming and climate change.
Al Gore, for example, once admitted the campaign is "torqued up."
He was discussing a warning from the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that horrible things are ahead for humanity if it continues to use carbon fuels.
PBS host Judy Woodruff noted the panel members were "painting a much more alarming picture of what we face than we had previously known."
Gore, the vice president under Bill Clinton and a failed Democratic nominee in 2000, said, "The language that the IPCC used in presenting it was torqued up a little bit, appropriately – how [else] do they get the attention of policy-makers around the world?"
Scientist Art Robinson's The Petition Project gathered the signatures of at 31,487 scientists who agree that there is "no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate."
"Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."
Robinson, who has a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California-San Diego, where he served on the faculty, co-founded the Linus Pauling Institute with Nobel-recipient Linus Pauling, where he was president and research professor. He later founded the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine. His son, Noah Robinson, was a key figure in the petition work and has a Ph.D. in chemistry from Caltech.
