Watch your words, Zuraida tells Ali Tinju
Saying Ali’s threat against Bersih's Maria Chin is a threat against all women, Wanita Keadilan chief announces that police reports will be made nationwide against him.
PETALING JAYA: Gerakan Merah leader Ali Tinju has a slew of police reports coming his way, courtesy of Wanita Keadilan.
The wing’s chief Zuraida Kamaruddin, in a statement today, warned Ali, whose real name is Mohd Ali Baharom, to watch his words, over his “warning” to Bersih 2.0 Chairman Maria Chin Abdullah to “watch her back”.
“Ali Tinju’s bravado in threatening women will not last long. Wanita Keadilan will lodge police reports against him (Ali) nationwide for issuing threats (against Chin).
“Men who brazenly threaten women are dangerous and mentally ill. The police should seriously look into this matter to keep women safe,” said Zuraida, who is also Ampang MP.
Zuraida said his threat should be dealt with seriously and taken as a threat against all women.
Ali’s warning came following Chin’s confirmation that the Bersih 5 rally would take place on November 19.
He had threatened to “ambush” Chin in the near future, and said she should watch her back as she might no longer “walk on this earth”.
DAP MP Ramkarpal Singh has also called for an immediate investigation into Ali’s threat, saying his remarks are tantamount to criminal intimidation
