CEO 1MDB said a nationwide briefing session to answer the allegations against the company was open and honest.
Arul, who had spoken at a briefing session on 1MDB, said the issue with the company was about a "politicized" business.
KUALA LUMPUR: 1MDB chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy criticized Lim Kit Siang's challenge to contest in the coming election, after DAP's veteran leader criticized him for organizing a tour of the troubled company without answering in Parliament.
"I am a professional, not a politician," Arul said when contacted by FMT.
Lim today questioned Arul for joining the roadshows to clarify issues related to 1MDB, saying the issue was more important to be answered in the Dewan Rakyat.
"I ask Arul Kanda to compete in the next election on 1MDB tickets. Compete on Barisan Nasional tickets, on 1MDB tickets, and we see what will happen, "said Lim.
Arul who was commissioned by the 1MDB rationalization plan following alleged misconduct said he appreciated the invitation and felt "humble because of being accounted for something undoubtedly, among the biggest calls for service to the people".
"Unfortunately, I was forced to disappoint him and declined his invitation," he said.
Arul, who spoke at 9 briefing sessions on 1MDB recently, said the company's issue was based on a "politically-politically" business.
"In fact, I only carry out professional work and responsibility, to inform 1MDB and related topics based on company records and facts," he said, adding that anyone could attend the session.
He said nothing was concealed and controversial around 1MDB including the investigation by the US Department of Justice (DoJ), the role of Low taek Jho and Bandar Malaysia businessmen discussed openly.
"In particular, each forum has a long and open question-and-answer session, where questions are asked questions and I hope, well answered," said Arul.
Opposition MPs criticized the Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia for refusing to allow questions about the company.
The government previously acknowledged the failure of 1MDB, but critics questioned the failure to prosecute any of its senior officials.
Arul told Kit Siang offer. A great story-teller is Arul - able to convince his audience with his 'units' all the money still intact in 1MBD when S'pore authorities charged a banker for money laundering 1MDB funds (now he spending about 8 years jail time), along with the Swiss authorities fines in relation to 1MDB, DoJ coming after J. Low superyacht, his spendthriftness (where did he get these funds - only after he got involved with Najib's son or stepson in 1MDB did he come into such MASSIVE WEALTH (suspicious eh)). Why is there RCI on this. We suspect RM42 billion were stolen from 1MDB funds! And J. Low brokered all these shady deals through back door channels (called money laundering) . Probably he got RM4.2 billion as 'commission' as DoJ claimed RM4.5 billion was misappropriated by him - the 0.3 billion may be the 'commissions' given to various bankers and accomplices.
J. Low superyacht staff monthly salaries will probably amount to RM100,000 = RM1,2M a year. M'sians are hungry because of GST, inflation, etc, and J.Low can afford to live such lavish, grand style (on M'sian taxpayers' money.
Another thin is WHY did Pricewaterhouse and Ernst and Young resign from auditing 1MDB?
