'Pelaq!' Mat Sabu mocks PAS for using Najib's donation script
Amanah president Mohamad Sabu (above) has mocked PAS for using Umno president Najib Abdul Razak's script on receiving "donations".
Mohamad, better known as Mat Sabu, said the claim that an individual would donate RM2.5 million to PAS was preposterous.
"Najib is the Malaysian political mahaguru (grandmaster) when he got RM2.6 billion he said was a donation from an Arab. The same line is being used by PAS now.
"This is really pelaq (Kedahan dialect for “crazy”) who wants to donate that much? Now as Amanah president, and with the election nearing, some people give me RM1,000, maybe RM3,000 at most, but this is RM2.5 million!" he said at an Amanah fundraising dinner in Kuala Lumpur tonight.
PAS central committee member Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki yesterday claimed that the RM1.5 million and RM1 million deposits received by the Islamist party were donations from an individual.
He denied that the sum had come from Umno as claimed by critics.
Mohamad, however, claimed otherwise adding that when the ruling party donates to an opposition party, it means they are "friends".
"Which is why BN and PAS flags go up at the same time. For us back then, our chests would bleed climbing coconut trees to put up flags, cutting down bamboo and palms.
"Now PAS flags all have metal poles, they can put up big flags using cranes.
"Last time, how could we afford to rent a crane? We were collecting donations with plastic bags," the former PAS deputy president recalled.
He said it was clear that in the upcoming election, the enemy of Pakatan Harapan was both BN and PAS.
