Release 1MDB audit and thwart Sarawak Report
Fight facts with facts, says Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man. The government can show how the website is deceiving the public if it releases the real report from the Auditor-General.
PETALING JAYA: The federal government was urged today to release the Auditor-General’s report on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) to back claims that the Sarawak Report website was trying to deceive the people.
“What is there to be worried of? Fight facts with facts,” said PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
The Auditor-General’s report, which was presented to parliament’s watchdog, the Public Accounts Committee, has been classified an official secret. However, the Sarawak Report website has published extracts from what it claimed to be a leaked copy of the A-G’s report.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the A-G’s report should be released as the government’s block on Internet access to the website had failed to stop Sarawak Report from deceiving the public.
He made reference to the claim by communications minister Salleh Said Keruak that the website was trying to deceive people with what it alleged to be leaked excerpts of the A-G’s report.
“Salleh stressed that the report is just one component used by the Public Accounts Committee to produce its report on 1MDB. He said what was revealed by SR deviated far from the truth.”
Tuan Ibrahim said to address the government’s concerns, as well as to prevent Sarawak Report from deceiving the people, the real audit report should be released. The government could then show where Sarawak Report had gone wrong and how it was deceiving the people as Salleh claimed.
Salleh had said that the audit report was a small component of the Public Accounts Committee’s report.
Yes, we are all waiting for the "REAL Auditor-General’s report on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB). What the H... is this EVERYTHING is under OSA, why does the govt always hide its head in the earth like an ostrich! Come out and be a MAN - show the us the facts and the Money!
